I would say that sabals are worth the try, some other Trachy types... any advice? Nannorrhops maybe, jubaea of course... butia maybe...
Beside two T. fortunei, I have a small Nannorrhops outside (the green form), without any kind of protection. I`m wondering if it will survive. A gardener told me that coldness wouldn`t be a problem for it as long as you keep it dry. I don`t think it is dry enough as it is snowing/melting/snowing all the time ...so we`ll see.

As far as I remember, Butia eriospatha is said to be a better candidate for a wet and cold climate than B. capitata. Maybe it`s worth a try.
