I planted mine the end of last year, and here is the result. I had a pretty good T'storm about two weeks ago and that, combined with the weight of the fruit caused the stem to bend over with the fruit touching the ground. Staked it back up horizontally with a six foot board and all is well though...
...it fruited this past May at about 8' of trunk height, so you're getting close. I cut one finger of fruit off, but it took almost 2 weeks to ripen. One of my favs for taste so far though. I cut another one off today to test...it had just the slightest tinge of yellow in the peel, so I think I'm close to taking the whole bunch...
