That's some bad luck. It's been a bad year with volcanos erupting etc... the last time volcano in Iceland erupted, it was one of the worst winters in the UK. We will see how the climate's affected by such eruptions this year. This year's average precipitation here: 800-1100mm (Typical 500-600) and temps way below what they should've been at the beginning of September...

Winter might be very harsh, so we will see. Good luck with your preparations. I might have one month to the first frosts, if the weather's stable.
