I thought that was normal! This is the 2nd summer for our banana that survived the harsh winter. I thought our banana was toast when all of a sudden it appeared in the same spot then a few weeks later, a full 13 inches to the southeast of that one, another one popped through. As far as I know, because the nurseries don't know the names around here of the bananas, it's a musa basjoo.
Could it be the variety? Just curious, what direction from the mother plant did your pop through?
