Those are some great photos! Thanks for sharing. I never tried growing a pineapple before but I know I will now. We have squirrels but I can use chicken wire to keep them out [we have lots of that]. I think I'll buy 4 pineapples and try both methods!

Update: I prepared my pineapple crown and left it to dry for 4 days [I hope 4 didn't hurt]. I put it in water [July 7th] and as soon as roots form I'll be potting it. I'll be getting another pineapple this weekend in case the first one fails. Thanks much for the inspiration.
