i tried rooting pineapples for awhile with no success other than rotting.
i found its best to get one under ripe eventhough the fruit is not as good, the top will more likely live.
i simly put them in spaghetti sauce jars filled with water in a window and watch the roots eventually touch the bottom before planting them out.
here are some i forgot about, the fruit was overripe and the top looked dead when i put them in. never even changed the murky water or added any hormone and they still root
using this method i have had 100% success
here are some tissue cultures of cheese pine, rudis, antiqua black and an unnamed variety, i just put them in some miracle grow moisture control potting soil
