Here in the Philippines, Saba is very similar to Cardaba, the latter being the more popular variety by far, since it has a little more size and flavor to it. When these are dead ripe they are also sweet and tasty eaten plain. These are both cooking bananas, being fried or deep fried in many ways here. I'm inspired now to take my cam to the local Mercado and get some shots of them for all to see.
