I also suffered loss, but the knowledge gained may be worth more!
I lost one KM-5, a small Ele Ele, (but the large one did better than most musa), and one of three MacKlayis planted in the ground. The ones in pots did not fare as well.
Mulch, really helps the corms over-winter, the pseudostem may be lost but,with mulch a corm is more likely to survive!
