SG,

Gorgeous pineapple plants, very healthy-looking! Do you know what variety they are? And how do you feed them?

Mike, I thought the same thing and started acquiring some. First I planted a couple from the grocery store (Smooth Cayenne, I think) and they are doing well, then I started looking on the web.

I got 3 of the Kona Sugarloaf variety from Wellspring Gardens via eBay for less than $4 each. They look great, but have a good bit of growing before they look like SG's! I understand the sugarloaf is one of the biggest and sweetest, but less acid than the commercial type. Kona Sugarloaf on eBay There is another seller that has them also, but they may be smaller plants.

Jeez they take up very little space, relatively. And my understanding is they are low-maintenance, so I think I can dedicate a few square feet in the greenhouse.
