Today I potted up five of these unknown fig cuttings which I started rooting 4-5 weeks ago. I'll call it "Gonsalves", naming it after a relative. My dad says it's the same fig his father grew which we lost in a flood 38 years ago. The black fig holds up well without fermenting and can dry on the tree. May have been brought from Portugal.
This cutting had the most roots but some others had more leaves, some already with a third leaf on new shoot. Helps having my greenhouse heated.
