They get about 3 1/2 to 4 ft. Mine froze to the ground with this last freeze, but will come back. Mine are in partial sun, but I know they will do well in full sun. Our soil is sandy and acidic, I don't know how they would do in clay, but they would probably do well in highly organic soil like bananas. What you do not see in the picture of the red cone is the small yellow flowers that come out of the cone as it develops. They spread, I would not call them invasive, but you do need to back them up occasionally.
