Musa itinerans var. itinerans is definitely more cold-tolerant than the 'India Form' M. itinerans, but both are cold-hardy here in zone 7a Tennessee, USA.

I got my var. itinerans from a friend who sprouted it from seed from TianZi Biodiversity Research & Development Centre, China, Thailand. They no longer sell seeds, so it will be a little while before it gets into cultivation. Somebody will tc it eventually.
