What kind of dirt is it in? Nanners do best in soil that has good drainage and doesn't become muddy and compacted - you might need to add coir or peat to your mix.

Ecuador? You must a lot about bananas. Sweet! Dirt? It's still in the same pot it came in, full of muddy, compacted dirt. Looks healthy right now but it could be a long winter. Mix? I'd definitely appreciate any info I can get on mixing good banana soil! It may sound silly but I think I really like that plant and I'd like to see it do really good.
BTW, what's "koppen-geiger"?
