Have you seen the monster Grouper video where it eats a shark on the line? I'll try to find it.

First time I saw this video. Cool. I once had a shark bite off a 15 lb dolphin once.

That Goliath was a smaller one BTW. They have been recorded at 800 lbs.

Record for biggest on rod and reel is 680 I think. I have never caught one yet.

Saw one in the paper a few years back caught in the north St Lucie river near my house. It was estim at 400 lbs. They took pics and let him go. Your shoulders could fit in his mouth.

Another amazing fact is that the winding river portion of the north SL river is prowled by the very aggressive bull sharks. Idiots run jet skis up and down there all the time.

Tony you ever try hoop netting from the pier? I'm thinking about buying some nets next season. The big guys are probably gone by now so I'll wait.

Actually a bridge over the bay. I am sure you could do pretty good off a pier. Off a jetty would be good if you could rig some kind of boom so you could lower it in. I've seen lots of lobster in the holes among the rocks in the jetty's.Problem is you can't toss the net out it has to be lowered into the water. If you understand what I'm sayin

How about Pismo Clams ever drug a rake through the surf for them.

I do. I was just checking out a home made crab snare a guy was casting from a jetty up north that was posted on the fishing board. Pretty cool but we can't use use snares in So Cal.

At the last minus tide where I fished and took pics of the sunset in Marina Del Rey there were big clams everywhere just under the surface. I asked my friend to get a clam gauge before I went but they were sold out so I left the clams there. No way I'm risking that fine!

Whenever I get my sinuses cleared out from the cold I have, I'll go diving and get you guys some lobsters. Banana for lobster trade. You've already given me the bananas.
