Hey Yall,
This is a seedling of a Canna that sprouted in between the 2 different color Cannas I have. i know it was a seedling because it still had the little ball of seed attached to it. Its pretty cool, but I'm not sure if its a mutation or a nutrition deficiency. It had a pup and I pulled it off and replanted it in the other garden area and the leaves are coming out the same way. It looks sorta like the Musa 'Siam Ruby'. Thanks for any epiphanys of why it looks like this. Look in my gallery to see what the others look like. Solid Red, and Solid Green. This is the first I have seen like this. |

It could be canna Wyoming, Red Stripe, Indica Purpurea, or one of the other many cannas with leaves like the one in your picture.

Hi
The weird thing is that I dont have Canna like that. This one came up from seed. I have a red leaf type and a green eaf type side by side. Do you think they 'mixed'? |

Taylor, that's the beauty of growing from seed (and also the drawback). You don't always get what you planned on! Probably just a recessive gene expressing itself there. Nice-looking plant though! Keep it and see what the flowers look like.

Bigdog,
I know! It is beautiful too. Hmmmm....should I give it a name? LOL Ive already got 5 of them. The first leaf comes out normal (most of the time) and then the second shows variegation, then the third and so on. Canna "Siam Ruby" Just kidding! Funny.... Taylor |
