Re: Seed Traders Thread!!!
I have lots of Loquat seeds too...I got them from Zac! :D
I can surely send you some of the dark opal basil seeds too JaNan, but I've grown it and it's a dark purple with bronze in it sometimes too. It's my mom's favorite. ;) Yes JaNan, I wondered the same thing about Dean's bird peppers...if they were the same as the Texas Bird ones I have...which never came up for me, by the way. Not one! :( I got the seeds from someone else so maybe they were too old...not sure. Still waiting but it's been three weeks already. Ok let me get the seed packet for the Bells of Ireland ad I'll be back... : ) |
Re: Seed Traders Thread!!!
Hey JaNan,
Yes, those are the native peppers/ bird peppers that survive most winters outdoors. My hands were very hot w/ the oil after removing the fruit pod. I'll PM you about where you can get some. |
Re: Seed Traders Thread!!!
OK Dean! Thanks! I've been keeping an eyeball peeled for the bushes and hadn't seen any yet! :ha:

Re: Seed Traders Thread!!!
Ok about the Bells of Ireland...
It's an heirloom favorite annual and it's excellent for drying. It grows 2 feet and blooms in summer in full sun. It reaches 2 feet tall. I've never grown them before and the seed packet says nothing about appropriate zones, so you might have to google some info, JaNan. : ) |
Re: Seed Traders Thread!!!
OK Sherry I will, They are very, very beautiful in person I have to say. If I can grow them here I may want to take a shot at them. I have never seen them here anywhere, so that probably means no. :( ~J

Absolutely Dean...that won't be a problem. ;)
JaNan, you never know until you try so they might do well for you. I'll surely send you some seeds. :D : ) |
Re: Seed Traders Thread!!!
Ok I've also got some pink and white pampas perennial grasses...
![]() ![]() When planted together it's a strawberries & cream effect. ;) Here's what else... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() : ) |

Re: Seed Traders Thread!!!
Those are gorgeous, JaNan! :goteam:
Dean... I know I said I wouldn't mail your seeds until a bit later, but I've changed my mind. :ha: As soon as your envelope arrives, I'll send yours out right away so you can get started. I've just had a lot going on but can definitely mail them sooner rather than later. ;) : ) |

So glad to see you like eggplant, JaNan! :goteam:
I sent you a cool surprise you're gonna love! Wait until you see... : ) |
Re: Seed Traders Thread!!!
This is one of the first sweet pepper varieties I ever grew when I was just a new gardener, called "Topepo Rosso". The plants are small, short and compact, producing masses of round golfball size fruits that ripen red. An unbelievably sweet type...
![]() I also have seeds for these, if anyone's interested... ![]() : ) |
Peanuts!!!
Flash from the past;
When I was a kid I'd always win a blue ribbon for the entry in the "Fall Harvest Festival" for my peanuts... :goteam: ... not too hard, as I had the one & only entry in the peanut category. (This was back in N.E. Wisconsin.) |
Re: Seed Traders Thread!!!
All the seeds I have previously listed are fresh. The ones I am listing now are in my seed bin and have different ages. I have had good luck sowing some of these "older" seeds in my AeroGarden so are still viable. I will include pictures or links.
Nicandra "Shoo-Fly" plant - nicandra - Google Search Larkspur - Larkspur - Google Search Rose Campion - Rose Campion - Google Search White Potentillia - White Potentilla - Google Search Nicotiana (don't know the color) - Nicotiana - Google Search Lavatera Trimestris Silver Cup - Lavatera Trimestris Silver Cup - Google Search Unicorn Plant (aka Devil's Claw) - Unicorn Plant - Google Search Plume Celosia Cerise - Plume Celosia Cerise - Google Search Burgundy Snapdragons - Burgundy Snapdragons - Google Search OK More later! :) ~JaNan |
Re: Seed Traders Thread!!!
... anybody with Cherimola seeds before I make a run to the supermarket?
:lurk: We just harvested some nice fresh nicotiana tabacum seed. It doesn't make as effective bug spray as the n. rustica but it's still pretty good & the plants are a LOT bigger. Hummingbirds like the flowers too. I just posted a DIY bug spray primer at: Home Brew Inscetiscide from Tobacco - Bananas.org (found a kolanchoe with a severe aphid problem) |
Re: Seed Traders Thread!!!
Ever pretty, Bob3!!! :goteam:
Ok, I've got some of these available, although limited supply at present... ![]() They're a compact everbearing variety, that are suggested for a hanging basket. They really should be sown in late winter although they bear fruit all season. Even though it says they're new, they're just "Temptation" improved with less runners so now they call them "Patio Temptation". It's the same thing though and I've grown this type many times before...the berries are big and delicious! :D If anyone's interested in these, please only expect a few seeds to get you started, and then you can collect more from your growings. Unfortunately I don't have a huge quantity but do have some to share. : ) |
Re: Seed Traders Thread!!!
My bluebonnets are already making seeds - so I will have a few seeds to trade with these very soon. I have several shades of blue and lavender.
