they should do fine with some fertilizer and plenty water. Does it get to cold in your part of La. to grow it in the ground?

you might want to plant one in the ground or pot them separately. those stalks will have suckers and fill that pot out in no time.

aaahh... i forgot the ways of the overwintering master.
if you start with small sections of seed cane (not what you have in the pic) you can actually overwinter them buried in the ground up to zone 8 and they will root and shoot new growth in the spring. |

MAN! thats a lot of shoots already. I use to have sugar cane, but never really knew when it was time to cut and eat it. I would chew on it raw. You got me thinking I should grow it again and just run it throught the juicer!
