Of course there has to be more solutions for small growers.. My neighbor says putting CD's in the trees keeps the birds away?... Who has other simple techniques to protect the harvest? :^) |

cheap throw away pie tins on a stick and a string will keep birds away..movement and flash...human hair will help at night..get it from a barber..put in mesh bag..predator animal urine,from sporting good store..helps to keep away some small mammals..

I talked to my Squeeze about covering my trees w/ netting, and she said I should just share w/ the birds.. So I guess I'll hang some CD's and hope the neighbors cat Army helps keep the pests away from my bounty.. :^)

I have not found any yet, but strips of reflective Mylar tape having different colors are supposed to keep small birds away from jujube fruit.
