Re: Ground cover rose reaching for the sky.
Wow, your ground cover roses are GORGEOUS! I have about 10 of them (pink and red) and this year was an anomaly - possibly due to the winter? All of my ground cover roses and knock out roses opened at the same time - spectacular! I always wanted that to happen but noticed that normally they bloom in sequence the way you described.
By the way your bananas looks great too. I have two that I did not cover over the winter here in Zone 6. I expected the older one to make it (I got a little scared this spring as it was slow to awaken). But I was pleasantly surprised that another one that I planted last year not only survived but is coming up with two bananas. The newly planted one was surrounded by other plants which I guess helped to keep it warm. Lesson Learned. Thanks for sharing, I have been surprised at how vigorous my ground cover roses are but I had no idea they could get THAT big - beautiful!! |

Well bananas might be something special in HZ6, where you and I live, but in this forum everybody has them. Thus roses are more exceptional here. :ha: Welcome to the forum, Mrs. Black! Olaf |
