I have one that I am growing and it is now starting yield enough berries for eating. I am trying to find out how many berries are required per day for it help my dietary requirements. It is sort of filling out an early span for when there are not other berries or fruit available in the spring.
The seeds are large and may be edible also.

I have been growing it for about 3 years now. Never got one single fruit from it. I do get lots of flowers, they are white and smell sweet. I just do not know why I have not been getting any fruit.

I am in 8b and we do get some colder weather than you do. I planted it with some potting soil into a thin sandy clay soil that once had a pile of uprooted pine trees push over on to it. I gave it some inorganic phosphate, nitrate, and potassium containing inorganic fertilizer this year. The blue berries next to it are happy as are some black berry bushes. The bush's tallest two branches are 7 ft plus high now.
The only thing I can think of is to check and see if your zone is good for it. I purchased my bush from just fruits and exotics about 2.5 years ago.

I think I will try and start some more of these bushes. I just went out and picked a few more ripe ones and consumed them.

I have never giving it any fertilizer, and I am unsure of it's needs. IDK if it wants low PH or not. But thinking you are growing it next to blue berry's I might need to work on getting it a lower PH.

I believe it does fix nitrogen. But that does not include phosphate.

The birds apparently ate all of the berries this morning and so I did not get any. But some berries are now getting ready as are dewberries and black berries.
