edible colocasia or alocasia??
 

Hi , my friend's land stream is full of this, and we know taro is edible. Our doubt is if this is colocasia( taro) or just an alocasia. I have taros at home and the tubbers are not looking like this, but i know there is many varieties.

The description on the internet tell us looks like colocasia, but we still want some second profesional opinion. Dont wanna get intoxicated, haha.

So ....if somebody can help identifiying i would be so grateful.

Is living almost inside the water, on the stream borders.

That is a colocasia.
The corm is roundish with horizontal rings .

Thx a lot! :) Can you tell the variety? All the colocasia family is edible? Or there is some exception? And of course....this one is edible? Thx again!

Judging from your description and site location.
Colocasia Esculenta a common plant variety.


Here in the U.S. they are used quite often as ornamentals while in other areas they are a food source.

I m gonna cook one tubber this daysand try it.
I have an edible colocasia, but tubbers are diferent, and tge leaves are way smaller than this......so i were not sure. Probably just diferent varieties.
