Amorphophallus Bulbifer
I have bulbs of amorphophallus bulbifer for sale or trade. I also have seedlings of a native 'red' yucca from N.W. Texas for sale or trade.

Re: Amorphophallus Bulbifer
How large does A. bulbifer get compared to A. titanum? We used to have a titatnum at the botanical garden I worked at. Those things are awesome! Of course, they smell horrible the first couple of days. Have you ever grown Dracunculus vulgaris? Smells like rotting meat as well. Cool flower though.

Re: Amorphophallus Bulbifer
None of them get as big as "Titanium". If you want a Titanium, Plant Delights has them fo $50......but won't sell you one unless your serious. I like the "Bulbifer". The bulb itself, after a few years can get as big as a 'basketball' with the plant itself well over 6' tall. They call this one the "stemulation voodoo lily" They produce more than one pink 'vase shaped flowers' when they get mature. Robert Chumley

Re: Amorphophallus Bulbifer
I have to disagree. That photograph isn't bulbifer. Its konjak. And Tony will sell titanums to anyone. He just says its only for serious people. I've had one, but it hated the move from TX to NC in November, and it died. I want to try a new one now that I am living in a subtropical climate. I already have 8 or so species, including bulbifer and konjak, among others.

I'm no expert, but the Amorphophallus pic looks just like my konjac.

Re: Amorphophallus Bulbifer
Bulbifer has much wider leaflets, and fewer, usually with a reddish overcast to them, but not as much as atroviridis, but its bronzy. And if that was bulbifer, at that size, there would be numerous axillary bulbils forming. I do find bulbifer a bit easier to grow and propagate, as it seems to be fairly fool-proof.
