I heard through a friend that Charles had a heart attack but, fortunately, did not suffer damage to his heart. He is scheduled for surgery next week. I'm sure he and his family would appreciate your prayers and good wishes.

If anyone speaks with Charles again, please tell him he has been in my thoughts since the flooding at his home. I know I'm not alone in missing his presence here.

I got a call from Charles this morning letting me know he's having surgery Tuesday morning. I had to call him back since I didn't answer, but he sounded very positive of the outcome, and I asked if he made sure he got a good doctor.. You know what I mean, there are some hacks out there. Sounds like he is in good hands. He may post before then, but he still has his hands full it sounds like w/ recovery eventually. 3-4 weeks he should feel like new man.. Lord know he will be in thoughts and prayers, hopefully yours too.. :v)

Heart repair surgery has come a long way in the past few years; my 80 year old neighbor had a pacemaker implanted in the 90s and passed peacefully in her sleep 10 years later from old age. Anything more I type will sound like I'm complaining or something so let it be that Charles has my best wishes for this procedure and remains in my thoughts. Please let us know.

GOOD News - Charles' wife said the procedure went very well and Darkman is now in ICU for a couple of days and doing well post-op. Charles told me the plan was to keep him sedated for acouple of days following surgery so he isn't available to talk.
Wife has his cell phone.
Good job on the prayers everyone

they moved him from icu to a room. thoughts and prayers working.
will be down for awhile.but he will be back. not sure about banana get together but we shall see.

Travis has some info on fruit friends email (a blurb - pretty long even for Travis - charles will understand that) based on his personal by-pass experience. Travis wanted me to share a copy with Charles.

Such wonderful news. Make sure he walks as soon as he can with permission--of course. I had my mother walking in ICU within days of her 2 liver resections. She was supposed to stay for 8 to 10 days but was out in 5 each time. She was in her late 70s...

I am really hoping Charles will post something when he can. When I had all my surgeries (7 in 84 months) there weren't even cell phones! Who knew the Internet would someday exist where strangers would care so much about other strangers?
