How to get very dark Maurellis?

Re: dark maurelli
I’ve had them a few years now and they seem to be very dark when they first come from the nursery, but then lighten up as they age.
At first I thought it was because they got too much shade in the backyard. But I’ve had one in a pot in full sun in the front and that one has lost its deep red color as well, so I’m not sure what is responsible for keeping them red ??? |
Re: dark maurelli
This is totally a guess but there are several aquarium red and pink plants that need a regular dose of iron to keep their colors. Maybe this falls into the same category?

Re: dark maurelli
It seems as my nights are getting cooler and less humid the leaves are turning more red?
Wonder if this is because they are native to highlands? |
