bordelon pollenation question

I have a bordelon that's blooming. It's opening male flowers now and the females are finished, of course they didn't get pollenated.
But now my neighbor down the road, his bordelon is just starting to bloom too. Since he will have female flowers and I have male flowers, can we get these together? and if we do, will we actually get seedy bordelon bananas?

I did the exact same thing with my two musella lasiocarpas that bloomed last year. The pollen took and I got seeds.

As Pete said, Bordelon are sterile. But if you are really curious, give it a try (if you can find pollen...it may not even have pollen), you never know. But dont expect it to work.

Re: bordelon pollenation question

nope, it doesn't have pollen. Maybe that's why it's sterile!
