awesome assortment of mangoes that i half bartered for. they were so friggin tasty! i have the nam doc mai and pickering growing in my yard so those were the first i tried. i'm trying not to eat them all at once so i don't get sick. :)

Would that by any chance be MiracleGRO potting soil? I'm looking for a decent generic container filler and am willing to try them (don't mind providing external feeding) but was told by someone to try Florida Professional Grower's Mix first?

yes it is miracle grow, and I love the stuff. Maybe it's the tropical weather conditions here, but it always have had perfect growing results for me.

Glad to hear that; I'll try and pick up a bag later then. My pineapple has been yellow for some time and I suspect it's due to the soil not draining properly so hopefully that will fix it.

if you want good drainage i would suggest adding perlite to the miracle grow... it's pretty dense.

i make my own potting mix, 1 part peat, 1 part top soil, 1 part pearl lite and 2 parts compost
some times i add sawdust
sometimes i nix the top soil and add pine park
depends on the plants im using it on

I'd love to add perlite but a small bag is very expensive over here and I haven't found anywhere that sells it in large quantities/wholesale. Sounds like a good mix Ste; I just bought an almost 60-pound bag of Florida Potting Soils Professional Growers Mix a day or two ago (9 bucks and some change so not too bad) and it has lots of perlite and peat and bark etc so it looks good.

What do you two gents feed with? My eye was lingering one some Slow-Release 14-14-14 Osmocote today lol

The most awesome package? Actually, it came yesterday. It was a box with a Potinara Fortune Teller 'Lucky Alicia'. It is an orchid in the cattleya group. Had plenty of stems (strong plant), and two growing leads (where the new blooms will come from). I'll post a photo when I get home, and a photo of what it should bloom like.
