How often and much potash do you add?
I have 4 total banana trees, all of which were recently transplanted either from a farm or as pups to my pots. The stem of one is about 7 feet out of the ground and the other is in a pot, it is about 4 feet tall. The other 2 are pups that were separated less than a week ago and put in pots. I’ve heard adding potash from an outdoor fire pit is great for these plants. How much do I add? Can I mix it in with water and make a solution of potash and water? Or just toss around in a circle and water it in?
I have pictures of my 4 trees and descriptions in the album on my profile May 2020. Any advice would be super helpful! My goal is to have many successful banana trees of a few varieties on my property, and the sooner the better.. |

4 nanas recently transplanted - let them acclimate to their new diggs before fertilizing. Wait for a new cigar leaf.

Pick and choose what works best for your zone. A few give the best ratio too. Ratios and qty's are site dependent and vary from planting to planting |

Good luck with your plants!!!! There are fertilizers for sale specifically for your plants. Me, I use 19-19-19 and lower for zone 5-6. You have many choices specifically for your zone. There are also many threads specific to potash use....do a forum search and pick and choose what will work for you. |
