after gardening for over 40 years hands down the best fertilizer iv used is Kelogs Organics they don't burn and they have primary as well as secondary microse nutrients and have Microsomal which for those of you that use pesticides or have used in the last 5 years your soil is depleted of its nature bacteria and with out it no mater how much fertilizer you put down the plants are going to take up precious little of it and for the people that grow in pots the soil in them rarely has microsomal and almost never has any minerals unless you been adding this stuff not to go on about it but if your soil is healthy any plant you put in it will grow beyond expectations if its being grown in the right climate

I'm not talking about large quantities here. I want to get the K number, in my 19-6-12, up higher. I'm using a 0-0-60 for this. It only takes a few ounces of the 0-0-60 per pound of the 19-6-12 to get the K number in the ballpark of where I want it. If you apply this mix to a 3 ft. X 3ft. area, around the plant, you ar only adding about ¼ oz. of extra filler per square foot.

My point exactly. Using 0-0-60 means you need to apply a smaller quantity of product...if you were to buy 0-0-6 and try and get the same result...you would need to apply much more. Therefore, I would recommend just purchasing the 0-0-60.

I employ a similar practice. I fertilize my mango and avocado trees with 8-3-9 and supplement with 0-0-50 during the summer months.

Off topic, Rainy season is here!! :woohoonaner: No more $500 water bills!! (yes, it did somehow get that high during the dry season...almost jumped out of my socks!)

I certainly agree. I don't want to be schlepping around big heavy bags, from which I get very little fertilizer value, unless there is another reason. For example, good composted manure has pretty low N-P-K values, but adds organic matter to the soil, and loosens clay type soil.
