Chicken grit?

ANyone ever tried mixing 50%/50% peat and starter chicken grit to the tops of the soil when starting seedlings? Apparently it is supposed to stop damping off and other fungi?

Re: Chicken grit?

An eighth-inch layer of vermiculite on top of the seeds works better and is cheaper than chicken grit.
