Yes you can! Plant next to a brick wall, or the side of your house, or some structure that will suck up the heat during the day and release it in the night, i.e, keeping your plants warm in winter. (preferably facing south) Dwarf namwa is a winner, along with raja puri, orinoco, and California Gold.

Cavendish is not as cold hardy as the varieties mentioned above - Zone 8 is iffy depending on how protected it is - Zone 9A here and cavendish isn't dependable - namwa, orinoco, raja are a better bet...
