Now why did my banana tree suddenly stop growing?
It's a young tree, about 3 feet tall. It was growing like crazy since just after we got it (about 2 months ago), but suddenly it stopped cold, and all leaves except the 4 latest ones started dying. Those 4 look fine.
It's in an extra large pot. I gave it lots of manure to start with, but does it need more maybe? If pictures would help, I'll be glad to post some. |

Is that manure composted? It might be too strong for a potted plant.

It was old goat manure, that had been out in the field a while. So not exactly composted, but probably not "hot" either.

I figured it out, lol. It was growing so fast because we had lots of rain (which is unusual for summertime here). Storm after storm after storm. It was during a dry spell that it stopped. Yesterday I thought of that and watered it; and then last night it rained. Voila! It's growing again like I flipped a switch. :o
