Re: Banna seed soaking how long?
I've not heard of banana seeds germinating under water, but I have heard of heliconia seeds doing that. Seeds need oxygen to germinate, so providing your water is well oxygenated then it should be OK.
I don't soak for more than a week, but I know of people who soak for 2 weeks. I'm not sure you gain anything by soaking for that long. So a week is about right. |
Re: Banna seed soaking how long?
If the seeds are fresh, you really don't need to soak them for more than a few hours. If they are not-so-fresh (LOL), then a few days to a week is better. Remember though, it really is important to change the water out frequently! You could end up with a bunch of rotten Musa seeds if you leave them in some stagnant water for too long. Been there, done that.
