SH-3640, Manzano, Morado, Gros Michel, Pitogo, Pisang Raja, P. Jari Buaya for Sale

As stated, I have corms of SH-3640 (1), Manzano (1), Morado (2), Gros Michel (1), Pitogo (1), Pisang Raja (3), and Pisang Jari Buaya (2) for sale. I have fruited every one of these mats and verified the identity of each plant apart from the PJB, which came to me by way of merce3, who got it from Rmplmnz, and the Gros Michel, which was an Agri-Starts tissue culture that I believe has sported to an off-type for some people (this was purchased from sddarkman619). Plant characteristics of the GM seem consistent, and Nicolas Naranja has shown me plants from the same source that are dead-to-rights correct, but I'm making no guarantees given the experiences others have had. The PJB in question is pictured in numerous posts and videos of Rmplmnz and appears to be the real deal.

SOLD 7/24: Pisang Jari Buaya (1)
SOLD 7/24: SH-3640
SOLD 7/24: Gros Michel
SOLD 7/24: PR Morado (1)
SOLD 7/25: Pitogo
SOLD 7/25 Pisang Raja (1)

Price per corm: $20
Price per USPS Medium Flat-Rate Box: $13.45

Depending on how big certain of these pups are, I may be able to save you money on the shipping, but there should be nothing that costs MORE than the $13.45 required for the Medium Flat-Rate Box. If I'm not able to get these dug tomorrow (7/25) and you live out-of-state, you will have to wait for shipment until the following Monday (8/1) so that they are assured to reach you in short order.

I wouldn't want a corm so small it fits in a Medium Flat-Rate Box.

That's fine, Richard; it's your prerogative. But please consider that numerous people have bought rhizomes shipped in that very same box from more than just me and been quite pleased with the outcome. To wit, I could name virtually every single person who has ever received material from PR-Giants in Luquillo. I don't see many people complaining about his product, and though I'm not claiming to be producing my own material with all of the advantages of Caribbean soil and climate, you do see my point. Of course we would all prefer to receive twenty-pound corms that would establish themselves within two months; that isn't cost-effective, however, on any side of this venture, and most people on this forum aren't fortunate enough to live in a climate conducive to growing these plants rapidly, anyway, conferring little advantage in the delivery of unnecessarily large rhizome. I have grown out pathetically small corms from all sorts of sources over the years, and provided disease wasn't an issue, time was the only cost in establishment. Please don't fault me for doing what every single other member of this site does, and please refer to the rather large size of several corms that I sold in my other recent sales thread, wherein they are pictured to scale. I've never seen you sell any plants through this site: make such a decision as you see fit at such a time as that changes.

It's about the banana, not the postage. If you've got the real deal then ship them in an appropriate size box. You'll find them available from Uline.

If you have an interest in using this section of the forum for its intended purpose, then please do so, Richard. Would you like me to dig you a twenty-pound rhizome of one of the bananas that is the subject of this post? I would be happy to oblige.

Nathaniel

medium sized priority boxes are totally fine, received most of my corms this way and was very pleased.

In the course of looking at the Morados today, I found another sword sucker well worth digging. I've updated the original post to reflect this addition to the offer. At the time of this posting, I still have the following plants available for shipment next Monday, August 1st: Manzano (1), Morado (1), Pisang Raja (2), and Pisang Jari Buaya (1).

I received USPS medium flat rate boxes stuffed with corms and that worked fine for me. If the corm is too large, then I would lose some of the fun in actually growing a banana plant.

If I wanted to put Chiquita out of business, then I'd buy full sized plants - ready to fruit.
