Malt Extract Agar?

Would Malt extract agar work for tissue culturing? Should I add plant sugars?

I use gelatin and MS salts. Works great! I like the gelatin over agar because it’s crystal clear and you can see much better! Especially for embryo rescue.

I used Agar with this stuff for rooting after shooting: Banana AGS Basal Medium
and this stuff for shooting, before rooting: Musa (Banana) Multiplication Medium.

both available at phytotech.
