Re: Ensete Maurelii propagation?
Has anyone tried/will be trying this with E. glaucum?
Thanks, Carlos(tropicalkid in NC) |
Re: Ensete Maurelii propagation?
I hope to have a go with Glaucum this winter as I have two and I thought I would chop the bigger one and see if it would work. I have tried this with the normal Ensete V a few times without any sucsess. I seem to have more luck with Maurelli. Even my Monty didn't take.

Re: Ensete Maurelii propagation?
Who wants to be bold/crazy and try this on an 'Ae-Ae'??? Obviously no one who has just one! However, if it worked, the results would be well worth it. I know when we brought ours into the green houses when I was at MOBOT we chopped some of them back to 1' or so and they really threw up the pups then. Food for thought! :banananinja:

Re: Ensete Maurelii propagation?
I have never considered trying it on a normal Musa as they all pup more readily. I have seen it done on Rajapuri to force pups.
I am down to two Ae aes and I don't fancy trying. Although I am going to chop the tallest one in half so it will fit in my polytunnel for the winter. Right what can I try it on ?????? |
