waimanalo papaya seeds free w/SASE or trade for ?

I've just ordered a packet of Waimanalo Low Bearing (aka X-77) papaya seeds from University of Hawaii , so HIGHLY reliable source! The packet should have around 150 seeds and I really only want 1 plant, so I'll be swimming in seeds. Please pm me if interested. If you have any seeds or cuttings for trade, let me know. Thanks!

One thing to consider before giving away all your seeds... Papayas come in male (NO fruit) and female (Fruiting). There is no way to know, until they flower, which you have. SO... If you are planting them for fruit, plant several, hopefully one is female. (Some have had success changing males into females by 1. cutting the taproot that males usually have, and 2. cutting the stem, forcing it to branch. There are no guarantees, though.)

There's male, female, and hermaphrodite. Some varieties have no males. A little googling says that this is one of those varieties, with a 2/3 chance of being hermaphrodite and a 1/3 chance of being female. But I could be wrong, as I'm totally not an expert on this. Still, though. With my kind of luck, I'd plant 100 and all the ones that germinated would be girls with not a single hermaphrodite in the mix. It's a pain to have to keep them until they flower to know if I got the right gender(s) or not. Definitely do plant extras.

Sorry, I forgot to mention the ones that go both ways. If they make fruit, they are essentially females to me.

The Waimanolo Papaya (also known as x-77 Papaya) is a "Solo" variety. All Solo strains (Sunrise, Sunset and Waimanolo) are predominantly self pollinating.
They taste so much better than the Mexican varieties.
Waimanolo is supposed to be "low bearing", but mine is already 6' tall, but still no fruits.

Yes 2/3 hermaphrodite, 1/3 female. Any males signal unwanted cross-pollination with another variety...at least that's my understanding. I would only ship quantities of 10 seeds or more so no worries. Hoping I can get mine to bear at a low height. But I would first have to have seeds...still waiting.
