If you don't have them, there a great addition to a collection. I understand the heart of the tree is edible and people pay good money for heart of palm.

Thanks for the offer but I live in virginia now. You have a couple nice varieties there. How big do your cape hatteras get? I have seen some in the wild that i would swear are over 10 feet tall. They once used to be native to VA but the native population is no longer there although some claim there are still some left.
