Mitchel, do you remember off the top of your head how much you paid for each car? My dad had many cars and it amazes me how he talks now and then about them as he remembers what he paid for his old cars, what he sold them for, modifications he made, etc. He was the second owner of the roadster that won the very first Oakland Roadster Show and declared "America's Most Beautiful Roadster". The third owner let it fall apart but a local guy bought it several years ago and restored it for a 50th anniversary celebration of the show. I still can't believe dad ever got rid of it. He has great memories of talking it to shows around the state on the back end of a flatbed farm truck. He remembers having to drive around Fresno to find a loading dock to drive it off. Things are a lot different today!!!

That seems to be the way with the hot rod crowd. They keep a car just so long then off to the next best thing.
I can remember all the modifications I did to my cars, but I don't remember exactly what I paid for them. I remember what I paid for some of the cars and what I sold or traded some of them for, but my memory is not that great. Is your dad the type that could tell you the date for every major event in his life? That always amazes me when people can do that. Hey is this the car your dad owned? I guess my memory isn't as good as my dad's, at least with cars (some phone numbers, etc. stick in my mind for 20 years after they're useful). I guess it was the second year it one.
so who won the second AMBR? - THE H.A.M.B. It had fenders on it originally but Carter Fisher didn't like them and left them off when he restored it. Dad doesn't remember exact dates, but remembers the years he bought and sold cars as well as other events in his life, like farming a particular ranch, buying a tractor, etc. He's almost 84 and retaining his memory very well (long term and short term).
