Re: Ae Ae Contest!
Gordon asked: 'Just how far south is south FL..' Garden wise it was Miami to Key West 20 years ago. But now it's probably below Palm Beach to Naples. Location, location, location seems to have enlarged with the climate warming.

Re: Ae Ae Contest!
I'd agree on that point.
I would say palm beach county down through monroe county on the east coast and fort myers south on the west coast. |

Re: Ae Ae Contest!
I'll go for my birthday gift of June 24th.
Would central California with winter protection suffice for "a few backyards over"? I promise to put it with my Plumerias and pineapples in my tropical garden!! |

I'm not sure what a Cattelya looks like, but it might just be the start of my orchid garden... or I suppose I'll have to donate the Ae Ae to a deserving Floridian...:2623: |

Re: Ae Ae Contest!
Yesterday a friend stopped by and I told him about the Ae Ae contest. Of course he wanted to know when the fruit would be ripe. Honestly I have no idea when the fruit will be ripe. This week the temperature dropped to 41, 51 and another 41 but the last two days it topped 80. Cold weather will slow it up and rain will step it up. Today I took a picture and posted it. Check it out and see if it looks bigger.
