Whats a good dwarf fruiter with pstem surviving 20ish temps?

I am going to try to grow a dwarf variety in my unheated greenhouse this winter planted in the floor or in a pot with the pstem exposed to the air. Last winter it did not get below 20/25 ish in there so was about a zone 9, and by covering plant pots with 2 layers of frost cloth, I lost nothing that was below the cloth. Basically what is the variety that has the most cold tolerant pstem that will fruit? I know the leaves will be lost but just need something with a pstem that has high cold tolerance. Lots of bananas seem to be able to take zone 9a temps and live, but is that with the pstem intact, or do they die back to the ground?

Try a Pioneira, plant to flower in 5.5 months, it's short, and it's cold hardy. :goteam:

I'm in zone 8b or 9ish and best luck i have is putting leaf clippings next to p-stem around Dec. 1st. And best winterized Dwarf's have been Raja-Puri and Dwarf Namwah. Hope this helps.

I cant seem to find much info on pioneira, kind of like enano gigante, and its one of my favorite bananas just to look at, I have not gotten it to fruit yet but this only the second year I have had it.

Homage to Kenneth Shepherd - Bananas.org

The precocious and short ‘Pioneira’ might be a good substitute for ‘Manzano’ and other sub-acid dessert bananas that are susceptible to Fusarium wilt.
