What do I do after the banana tree is done fruiting
What do I do after the banana tree is done fruiting, do I chop the p-stem or what? I didn't know what to do after the fruit was done fruiting.

Cut the p-stem a foot or two above the ground. It should start pupping afterwards

Some say cut the p-stem at about 1-2 m as the nutrients in the stem can feed the oncoming pups. When the old stem is withering and the pups are well on their way it can be cut to near the ground.

Ditto to the above. Even if you don't cut it, it will die. Best cut it as soon as you harvest so no extra energy is spent into the mother plant, and go ahead and chop up and leave the remains in the same area of growth, so that the existing or future pups will get plenty nutrients from the deteriorating mother plant.
