Two hands of Namwah. One for Mark and one for "Dis Linn" my wife's nail lady. When she calls to confirm she says "Hi, dis lin" :ha:

Enjoy Mark! I'll let the passion fruit rest until wrinkled then marinade some chicken or pork with it.

Ae Ae

One yellow finger and a few of the bigger ones were starting to split.

In my opinion the ripe, yellow fruit taste similar to a cavendish, but with a sweeter finish

Time for tostones

Dwarf Namwah also. I would say that this is the sweetest, most delicious banana that I've had to date. It's definitely a keeper.

Tried Namwah for the first time 2 months ago and had to get a plant right away! Great taste and texture, and some had a scent like cantaloupe. And a gorgeous plant too!

Congrats Clare. Yes, Dwarf Namwah is definitely a winner in our climate. My mat of them is the best looking mat I have right now. Leaves still nice and dark green (though a bit wind shredded). All the rest have more yellowing of the leaves from the cold, dry air we've had at times.

And they do taste very good. I wouldn't know from my own plants (yet), but as you know, I'm always willing to investigate the generosity of my banana-growing neighbors! :ha: Fortunately for me, my "neighbors" (which span So Cal, by my figuring) are generous. You know who you are. Thanks.

I harvested a bunch of Namwah.

Question for Jarred and or the mods, why is this Banana related thread not a sticky? We have a sticky for non banana related "what did you harvest today" so ?????

What do you say we get this thread stuck at the top so we don't have to use the search function to find it. That would be great!

Not too bad considering it was over the winter months!

Is this the "Not Mona Lisa"? Mine that I got from you still looks good, but has quite a while to go before it makes fruit.

No pups yet. I keep expecting one to pop up any day. It looks very healthy and happy, so it's just a matter of time.

I got it from you about 10 months ago, in June. In my cool climate, it seems to take a long time for bare root ones to get going. It has about 4.5' of p-stem and looks happy, especially considering the tough winter we had here. I think it's growth will really take off now. It's newest leaf is making fast progress.
