Ebun Musak. Some were slightly soft. Consistent with their green ripe reputation. 16 months to flower. 2.5 to harvest.

Something sold to me as "Nang Phaya" but who knows what it really is. Big fruit and bunches, but just ok tasting IMHO.

These Veinte Cohol were great :08:
and these 30 pound racks have better fruit quality than the little 10 and 20 pound racks.

Top hand 27 fruit.

Only top mulch was used to feed the plant.

Re: What did you harvest today (bananas)

My 3640 bunch that flowered in November and was frozen in early January had to be harvested because the peduncle bent from the weight (As you can see in the pic.)... It's filled in pretty well but not fully. Pretty good for having no leaves since Jan 2-3. Not ripened yet, looking forward to eating them.

My first Balonkawe, an ABBB type from the Philippines. 8 months from flower to harvest! Haven't cooked with it yet, but like a much worse Ice Cream banana when ripe. 2nd pic with some ripe FHIA-17s. Pretty much loser banana week, lol!

You need a pig to feed them to.

They are several miles, but it's been quite an experience to have the lava come out 19 times in 10 days. Most people I know have left my area already. The lava keeps getting further away for now, but has damaged 3 of the 4 roads to my area and for a while was likely to cut off the 4th, which could still happen. The sulfur dioxide has been very bad at times. We left based on all that, but hopefully will be back home soon. I can still access my home for now.

Just moved back into my home after 6 weeks away! The bananas are pretty happy after a little leaf damage from sulfur dioxide from the eruption in early May. It's good to be home, but as the eruption continues, who knows how long until we'll need to evacuate again. There are 2 new emergency roads out if the only real road gets covered by lava or destroyed by more cracks. I feel very fortunate to be able to come back to my house!

These are "Mona Lisa" that is not really the real thing, as I learned recently from Gabe. These are one of my favorites--like a Hawaiian Apple banana with a jelly-like core. The real Mona Lisa that Gabe gave me fruit of was mediocre at best. I'm guessing these are some off type like the "not Goldfingers" that I and many others have.

Hawaiian Apple on the left, Kandrian on the right. My first Kandrian. 6 months flower to harvest. These didn't fill out properly, as the p-stem fell a few times and then the peduncle collapsed in the last month. They're still pretty good! Remind me of Dippig somewhat. Haven't had them cooked yet. Not too many left of what I'm growing that I haven't tried before.
Kandrian

How tall did that Kandrain get?
6 months isn’t good news for me haha.
Awesome Rob! Thanks for all your posts! I enjoy them!
