Very sad banana pup needs TLC

I split my dwarf cavendish a couple of days ago. I left one pup attached to the mother corm and cut the other two off, then potted them all. The one left on is doing fine, and one of the others folded a couple of leaves, but the top two are still looking healthy, so I'm not too worried, but the third immediately folded up its leaves and every day it's a little more droopy and sad looking. I suspect I didn't get enough corm when I cut it off.

Anything I can do to help it along? It's not the end of the world if I lose it, but I would prefer to keep it alive if I can!

I would cut off the leaves and just keep the soil slightly moist, or if you don't want to cut the leaves you can just leave them. They are very resilient plants and if there is enough corm it will quickly recover, the leaves are not important at this point as they are not needed for the plant to form roots and are giving off water the plant could be saving, but again I don't think it really matters. I have personally found it doesn't really matter if they are in shade or not when rooting or have leaves or not, the important parts are that there is enough corm and it is warm. The leaves will look ratty either way until is grows new ones so don't worry about how they look.

Hey Spark.... This happens often in newly divided/transplanted 'naners. It will take like 4 weeks or so to recover. After this one comes back, the next ones which shows this condition won't give you any need for concern! :ha:

put it in the shade in the greenhouse. Like under the bench. Cut all the leaves in half to reduce water loss through transpiration. If you didn't get any corm or root system on it, of course none of this will work. You have to at least get a chunk of white on the bottom to make it viable.
