I had a seedling that looked exactly like that. the next leaf showed a very slight tint of green, if you looked close, and then the next a very thin streak of greenish color but then it slowed to a crawl on growth and lived for almost a year very slowly putting out a new leaf once in a while.

It does look like a seedling but the base has some pink which makes me think it's a highly variegated VDN. I should just dig it up and find out but either way it has no value and will be discarded.
