Tati'a banana
Has anyone seen this banana before? Apparently they are a hybrid between a fei and accuminata? Interesting parentage.

A search for fei images brought me here. Rob in Hawaii posted pictures of them. |

Re: Tati'a banana
Hi all, I don't actually have this banana, I found it listed on pro musa and noted whilst there are heaps of fei varieties there seem to be very few crossovers between fei and a/b bananas so from a gene pov it interested me. My collection of bananas is currently limited to 10 edibles most of which you'd call common. In wa the only legal way to get bananas in is tc from a government approved lab using fully screened meristem. These people are industry focused and see backyard growers and collectors as diseased plant growers. They only sell the plants very reluctantly. Im hoping to get 6 more varieties out of them this year after much hassling. I am also going to try germinating some cold hardy seeded types this summer as well. Will upload pics soon.

Re: Tati'a banana
I should have added, I was curious because of the gm work being done to introduce the beta carotene producing genes from the fei banana into Cavendish Varieties. I know the iholena varieties have some orange coloration and i wondered just how much this one had. Any members from tahiti?
