Question: Banana Tree in trouble

My DC is a baby, it's my first one, and its leaves started turning yellow. Layed off on the water, but it kept getting worse. Watered it with miracle grow and while the yellow leaves still look bad, the other leaves turned a nice deep green color. It is growing leaves like crazy now, about a new leave every 2 days. Should I be worried about the old yellow leaves.

Sounds like it was a nitrogen deficiency which you have dealt with by feeding the plant. If the new leaves are healthy (and sounds like they are prolific), then everything OK. I'm assuming it is in a pot - in which case you will need to feed it regularly during growing season. BR Jane.:waving:

Old leaves always turn yellow and die. Leave old leaves on as long as they have green on them and then trim them off. If you're getting a new leaf every 2 days it sounds like it is doing great.

I have it in a pot, with a large hole drilled in the bottom. Covered the hole with a large rock, then put a little gravel. Soil is half perlite and good potting soil. Anything else to do for drainage?

That sounds fine as long as you don't water excessively.
