Is it possible for Brazilian (AAB genetics) to have intense wine splotches?

Hello everyone,
Just curious, is it possible for young Brazilian bananas to have lots of wine splotches like a cavendish? I've noticed my Truly Tiny, which is supposed to be a super dwarf Brazilian, has a lot of red in its leaves. Even the petioles are open and hot pink/red in color. The pseduostem has a lot of dark pink/purple on it as well. I bought the plant from Wellsprings and it was labeled "Truly Tiny." Just wondering, I wouldn't mind so much if it was an SDC, but I'm hoping its not a Little Prince haha Thanks!

Absolutely. Here is Pic of one of my new D. Brazillian pups with plenty of wine colored blotches on it.

BigBananaBoy,
Thanks! That's definitely good to know. Is there any reddish or pink coloration anywhere else on the plant?

The midrib of my plant has the wine color and little under the blade of leaf is a light pink coloration, but goes away as the pup matures. Never seen any on the p-stem, but it could have a lite pink not visible in the image.

Thanks BigBananaBoy,
That's really helpful. Here's a close up of the pseudostem and leaf petioles they're notably different than my dwarf cavendish.

Andy, those petioles look too open and the wings too wide to be Brazilian, which does not have spreading wings. Small TC plants sometimes look strange compared to what they grow into, but if I had to guess, I'd say it is some Cavendish variant.

Thanks venturabananas for taking a look at this, I appreciate it. I've really enjoyed growing this plant, which is by far the best super dwarf I've ever grown. Could this be some kind of edible SDC variant then? From the pictures I've seen, it doesn't really look like Little Prince, but I'm not sure what the differences are between them.

Could be edible. You'll just have to wait and see.

Thanks venturabananas,
Is there anyway to know if its edible or not? Is palatability and lack of seeds what separates ornamentals from edibles? Here's the website description for their Truly Tiny:

"Delightful small banana that has a beautiful form. Grows only to about 2 - 3 feet in height. Excellent houseplant. Reported to grow edible bananas. Great as a groundcover or as a container plant"

Yes. If this one makes fruit, it will be edible. I think the question is, will it ever make fruit. Good luck. Let us know.
