Re: Nursery find! Musa zebrina (blood banana)
Great find, and alot of pups too. That's also neat about the frogs. Did you relocate them some where?

Afterwards, I rolled down the bag opening so that it was level with the soil, and placed all the frogs back on top of it. I left that sit open overnight. This morning, it appeared they had all vacated. Including the mother, who was also in with them! LOL |

Re: Nursery find, labeled 'Sangria Banana?
Wow, that is really interesting about the frogs. I'm glad the story has a happy ending, too. Wouldn't it be horrible to open a bag of potting soil and find dozens of dead/dying frogs? I'm also glad you seem to have gotten a nice little banana plant out of the deal.

Well I know I did good with the frogs, figured they'd repay the favor when those jap-beetles start chewing. Besides, I didn't eat dinner until 9, and missed my movie. That banana had better make it or else! Well I'm afraid my good deeds went without reward as, today I learned that my dwf cav, and java look like they are starting to develope signs of sigatoka and possibly a lack of calcium. Hey, at least I still have my pineapples!!! |
