New bloom in late October - can this survive??

I was just out cleaning up my plants and yard and found I have a new bloom starting.... but it's mid October and I was told I am supposed to cut all my plants back to about a foot tall here soon. Is there any chance of keeping this plant going through the winter in Austin (zone 8b)?

I'm sure other members may have varying opinions but I'm certain that it won't make it.

If you are frost free and above freezing, there is hope. If you can install a temporary greenhouse with some heat (PVC pie and plastic, for example) there is hope. Otherwise, it isn't going to happen.

You can try .... The pstem is history anyway .... it wont come back next year. So leave it and see what happens.

I had a Orinoco to flower last Christmas and it did produce a nice bunch. I lost it to the first hurricane this summer.
